A WEBSITE DEDICATED TO PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR THOSE WHO ARE WANTING TO ACTIVELY LEARN HOW TO BE ANTI-RACIST.

YOUR BLACK FRIEND IS TIRED.

At some point, you probably have gotten overwhelmed and said that you are exhausted. Learning about racism is hard.

Can you imagine how tired your Black friend is experiencing it?

I truly believe that we are stronger together. Before you can act, you must educate yourself.  There are so many resources out there. It can sometimes seem very daunting.

Take a deep breath.

Give your Black friend a break from the questions.

Why? Because we are tired.

We want you to advocate and to fight for us. However, this means more than reposting a hashtag or signing a petition. We want you to educate yourself and those around you.
You may not agree or understand some posts on this site. It may be challenging.  It may be uncomfortable.
I would challenge and encourage you to lean into that uncomfortableness.  Every week, there will be a new blog post and additional resources added.
Read them. Share them. Talk about them. You can add this website as a favorite to your homepage.
My Story

MY STORY

Being homeschooled, I didn't fully grasp the reality of racism until I entered college.

In college, I encountered statements like:

  • 'You're pretty for a black girl.'

  • Wow, what athletic scholarship are you on?

  • You are so articulate

  • 'I'm not racist, but my parents are.'

  • 'You don't act black.'

  • 'Wow, you talk white.'

  • 'You're an oreo (black on the outside, white on the inside).'

These statements are not acceptable; they make people of color feel as though the color of their skin is a problem.

Black is beautiful.

Racism and prejudice continues to influence my daily life. At times, I carry a constant fear that either I or someone I care about might face someone who views us as 'suspicious' or 'threatening.

As a black person, I do everything in my power to ensure that others don't perceive me in those ways. To make sure I fit within the box society has placed me in.

The purpose of this website is to educate, inform, and provide resources for those seeking to become anti-racist. Pastor Steven Furtick once said, 'Before you take a stand, you must take a seat.' If you want to advocate for Black people, you must first understand what they are going through.

If you are a person of color and want to share your story, please contact me below.

I've created a BLM (Black Lives Matter) highlight on my Instagram where you can find more resources.
