Being Black by Jane Elliott

Here's educator Jane Elliott asking a room full of White people a very, very simple question. For more information about "Being Black" go here: http://www.tripoetry.com/Black.htm and go here: http://www.tripoetry.com/White.htm, and go here: http://www.tripoetry.com/Letters/reynoldsrap-whitehistorymonth.htm and http://www.tripoetry.com/Letters/REYNOLDSRAP/RACISM/SYSTEMIC-RACISM-101LG.jpg FACT 1: At absolutely no point in the history of the United States of America has the socio-economic status for the overwhelming majority of Black people been equal to or greater than the socio-economic status of even “average” White people. FACT 2: Except for a few tokens, when compared to White people, the overall social and economic status (i.e., equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the political process) for the overwhelming majority of Black people, and other people of color, did not change before slavery, during slavery, after slavery, or during the 1870s, 1880s, 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and there's absolutely no basis to expect any improvement in the 2020s. Accordingly, given the extremely successful and perpetual existence of systemic racism and systemic sexism (http://www.tripoetry.com/Letters/reynoldsrap-systemic.htm) why would any sane White person what to be Black? Well??? QUESTION TO ALL BLACK PEOPLE: "If you could immediately avoid the history and perpetual impact of 250 years of slavery, 90 years of Jim Crow, 60 years of separate but equal, 35 years of state-sanctioned redlining and all related oppression, racism, police abuse, wrongful incarceration, high unemployment, lack of access to health care, poor education, overt discrimination, and have a family worth (http://www.tripoetry.com/Black.htm#3) that's ten-(10) times greater ($265,000) than the average median worth of a Black family ($28,000), and all you had to do is become White, would you?
